Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Palette Review

Months after taking the beauty community by storm in the US, the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette has hit the UK to, once again, sellout success. I managed to get my hands on one after frantically refreshing Beauty Bay on my phone whilst on the train to work!

Jaclyn Hill is a Florida based YouTuber, with 4.5 million subscribers,  who has collaborated with Morphe, an affordable cosmetic company. Morphe is best know for their high quality makeup brushes and eyeshadow palettes and Jaclyn has worked with them to create her perfect palette.

In this palette you get 35 eyeshadows with a variety of finishes, matte, satin and metallic. The majority of the colours are wearable everyday shades but the inclusion of a few pops of colour give this palette it's versatility. The colours are very warm toned, which gives it an autumnal feel, perfect for this time of year. The shadows themselves are very pigmented meaning they have great colour pay off on the eye and they are also easy to blend. I experienced a little bit of fall out with the darker shades, which is to be expected but it was no more that any other palette. I really enjoyed creating the looks below and found the shadows easy to work with.

This palette retails for £37 and is available exclusively on Beauty Bay in the UK. Although this is not cheap for an eyeshadow palette, I do think it is good value for money as each shadow work out just over £1. With a bigger brand like Urban Decay you would pay around the £40 mark for 12 shadows in a palette and with this one you are still getting high quality shadows just not a high end name.

The only thing I don't really like about this product is the packaging. Unlike other Morphe palettes that come in hard plastic case, this one is in a white cardboard container which does feel a little cheap and will get dirty quickly. This isn't a big deal to me as it is the eyeshadows that matter, and they are great, but I thought I would mention it as it does mean it isn't the best palette to travel with.

I am very happy with this purchase, it is definitely worth the hype! I find the colours inspiring and think it will push me outside of my comfort zone as well as letting me create quick everyday looks. If you are in the market for a large eyeshadow palette I think this is definitely worth the investment!
